The owner picked the wrong primary category.

Primary category is the single biggest ranking factor on your Google Business Profile. Google uses it to decide which searches you even show up for. Pick "Contractor" and you compete with every general contractor in Charlotte for vague searches. Pick "Roofing Contractor" or "Kitchen Remodeler" and you start showing up for the searches that actually make your phone ring.

Two rules:

Pick the most specific category that fits your money service. The service that pays the bills. Not the one you wish was bigger.

Use the additional categories slots for your other services. You get up to nine extra. Use them. But the primary one is the one that matters.

Change it today. Give it a week. Watch what happens to your call volume.
