How to rank higher on Google tomorrow
Most local business owners think ranking higher on Google takes months. Sometimes it does. But more often, you are missing two or three basic things on your Google Business Profile that you can fix in an afternoon, and the map results shift the next morning.
Here is what we check first on every Charlotte client.
Primary category. Pick the most specific one that matches your money service. A roofer should be "Roofing Contractor", not "Contractor". Google ranks you for the category you pick, not the one you wish you had.
Service area. Add the actual Charlotte neighborhoods and towns you serve. Ballantyne, Plaza Midwood, Matthews, Huntersville, Concord. Not a 50-mile radius blob. Specific wins.
Services list. Type out every individual service you offer with a one-line description for each. Google reads those descriptions.
Posts. Add a Google post this week. A short update, a recent job, a seasonal reminder. Profiles that post regularly outrank ones that do not.
Photos. Upload five real photos from a recent job. Geotagged from your phone is fine. Stock photos do nothing.
Do those five things this week and watch your map position for the next seven days. If it does not move at all, something deeper is going on and we should talk.
