Local marketing playbook
Using retargeting to close more local leads
Most people who visit a local service website are not ready to book yet. They are gathering information. Comparing two or three options. Waiting until tomorrow morning when they have time to call.
If you do nothing, most of them never come back. Not because they did not like you. Because they got busy and forgot.
Retargeting solves that. A small piece of code on your website lets you show ads to people who have already visited, on whatever platform they use next, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, other websites.
The cost is tiny because the audience is tiny. Maybe a few dollars a day for a typical Charlotte service business. The ads are not pitching to strangers, they are reminding someone who already looked at your site.
Two things to get right:
1. Make the ad simple. Your name, what you do, one photo of real work, a phone number. Not a 30-second video.
2. Cap the frequency. Three or four impressions per person per week is plenty. More than that and you become the business people complain about following them around the internet.
Used quietly, retargeting is one of the highest-ROI things a local Charlotte business can do.
